Romantic Things To Do In Bath

24th Jan 2023

Fall in love with Bath…

We don’t like to boast but the Great British public routinely votes Aquae Sulis as the most romantic city in the UK and with Bath Luxury Rentals as your central love nest, you can make memories with loved ones in the UK’s most romantic city.

The Bath Luxury Rentals team have put together a check list of things to do and see in Bath that’ll you, and we, love.

1. Bath Boating Station

This beautiful Victorian Boathouse is nestled on the banks of the River Avon and just a short walk through the historic streets of Bath from your Bath Luxury Rentals Georgian Townhouse. Punt or row down the river taking in the newly opened Cleveland Pools en route to The Bathampton Mill just 2 miles up the river, being the perfect destination for lovers, families and groups alike.

2. Pulteney Bridge

The Pulteney Bridge has been designated as a Grade I listed building and is one of only four bridges in the world to have shops across its full span on both sides, the others being the Venetian Rialto Bridge, Krämerbrücke in Erfurt in Germany and Ponte Vecchio in Florence. Were you even in Bath if you didn’t have your photo taken on one of the most iconic and romantic backdrops in the city of Bath. Top tip, if your camera skills allow, this is a night-time shot too.

3. The Royal Crescent

No list of things to do in Bath would be complete without a visit to The Royal Crescent. The grandeur of Bath’s most iconic landmark is a bona fide conversation starter.; imagine the colourful lives of the past inhabitants of such an address whilst taking a leisurely picnic on the lower lawn with family and friends.

4. Thermae Spa Twilight Package

Bath is a rare double-inscribed World Heritage Site since July 2021 when Bath was added to the Great Spa towns of Europe UNESCO listing. The award-winning day spa of the Thermae Bath Spa is home to Bath’s naturally warm, mineral-rich waters that brought the Celts and Romans here over 2,000 years ago. We highly recommend you languish in the rooftop pool, if you can, at dusk, a very cool way to see the city. *Our Hot Bath Street Property less than 50 yards from the Thermae Spa so perfect for spa lovers!

5. Dinner at The Pump Rooms

The Pump Rooms is home to the source of the Pump Rooms hot springs and to a ballroom that has seen the great and the good of Bath promenade through it across the years, including Jane Austen and Charles Dickens, no less. Elegant, refined, polished and sophisticated. If you’re looking to impress, look no further!

6. Hot Air Balloon Ride

See Bath from the very best vantage point. Hot Air Balloon flights take off daily from Victoria Park, during the warmer months and offer a bird’s eye view of the city. And if you’re not great with heights, join friends with a picnic and watch the balloons go up and head skywards towards Bristol, the Cotswolds, or the Mendip Hills.

Our central Bath properties are prefect bases for exploring the West Country.

Afternoon tea at The Royal Crescent is a quintessentially English experience and a treat throughout the year. In the summer enjoy the beautiful secret gardens and, in the winter, grab a fireside cosy corner with you and yours.

8. Walk the Skyline

This National Trust signposted walk really will give you a new appreciation of Bath. Sensible footwear is a must for this view of the city, but your efforts will be rewarded on this rolling 6 miles of meadows and ancient woodlands. Peek at Prior Park Landscape Gardens, home to another famous Palladium Bridge, as you descend towards the city and your Bath Luxury Rentals home when you stay in Bath.

9. Little Theatre

Head to this independent art-deco cinema (yes it was once a theatre) still owned by the same family 80 years on and catch a classic or cult film or special art production. *This Bath gem is also just a stone’s throw from our property Bath Hot House property.

10. Stay with Mr. Darcy

Bath Luxury Rentals most popular property is the Georgian townhouse Mr. Darcy’s Residence which like the famous character created by Bath dweller Jane Austen is grand, bold, and sexy. And although there is room enough for all the family, there are plenty of romantic discreet corners for some alone time.
