Whether your visit to Bath is with the friends or family, it has so much to offer whatever your age or interests.

At Bath Luxury Rentals we understand that travelling with toddlers can be taxing at times, and that making sure your small people are entertained and happy is crucial to a successful trip. Read on to learn more about how children can stay for free when you stay with us here in Bath.

Top Things to Do with Toddlers in Bath

We’ve asked the parents on our team for their top suggestions for playing happy families in Bath and here are their top 8 picks of things to do in Bath with toddlers:

1 – The Egg Theatre

A dedicated theatre for children with an excellent café too for feeding kids either side of any one of their incredible productions. You can use the café even if you aren’t seeing a show. It has all the user-friendly amenities you’d expect too and is super central. Performances are by excellent touring companies offering brilliant shows across the spectrum of genres. Recommended as one of top things to in Bath with toddlers! The Egg Theatre is a short hop and a jump from our centrally located properties.

2 – Royal Victoria Park

The first of 2 parks on this list. This park offers something for kids of all ages as well as toddlers and is just a short walk from the city centre and past the Royal Crescent if you wish to add some architectural interest to your walk. If you have older children too this is perfect as it offers distinct areas for different aged children and with great visibility so perfect for all the family. If you have just small ones then the toddler area is soft with sand and with lots of climb on, crawling and swing obstacles.

3 – Bath City Farm

Just a short car drive or bus ride from the centre you’ll find Bath City Farm, a much-loved community project; a non-profit organisation providing education, training, and therapeutic activities for disadvantages children during the week, who fund their brilliant scheme by opening their farm to visitors who can use their play park, see animals, and enjoy their walking trails, farm shop and café. And at the weekend it is one to all with admission being free, although donations are welcomed.

4 – Bath Sports & Leisure Centre

The recently revamped Better Extreme (as it’s now officially known) sports centre has so much to offer families with toddlers. There’s swimming with a small pool and soft play too. There is a great trampoline park that’s just the right size for small kids and has different sessions to avoid older children if you prefer. There is also bowling a café and on-site parking.

5 – Rainbow Woods

This flat pretty wood is a local’s fav and neighbours the National Trust Skyline Walk (that isn’t buggy friendly all of the way around) This is a short car journey out of the centre which is also on the Bath site-seeing bus tour at Claverton Down, Road. There are easy wooded welly walks, a play park area and a fairy door trail, yes a FAIRY DOOR TRAIL… it is simple and lovely and worth a visit with your family.

6 – Odd Down Cycle Circuit

This was opened by the one and only Sir Chris Hoy a few years ago now but provides a safe track for the family to cycle. This purpose-built sports facility also boasts a café and Astro-turfed football pitches and a programme of events in and out of school terms.

7 – Alice Park & Café

The second of our parks, Alice has plenty to offer the adventurous toddler. There is a mini cycle path for little ones to practice their bike skills, a sandpit and plenty of space for picnics plus an excellent café who often have a DJ and other community events that are well loved. Alice Park is a flat walk from both our Haze House and Mr. Darcy’s Residence properties.
